FEAR THE WALKING DEAD season 4 is returning this spring following 3 successful seasons. But when exactly is the new season released? We look at the season 4 release date, cast, trailer and more.
When will Fear the Walking Dead season 4 be released?
AMC bosses have announced that Fear the Walking Dead season four will be released this April.
The Walking Dead’s companion series was renewed for a fourth run last year following it’s unprecedented popularity with fans.
The horror drama will return to screens on Sunday, April 15 on AMC in the US but won’t be broadcast in the UK until the following Monday.
UK fans can tune in on Monday, April 23 on BT.
This is disappointing for viewers in the UK as last season’s premier was simulcast in the US and the UK.
How many episodes will be in Fear the Walking Dead season 4?
Season four will consist of 16 episodes and will be split into two halves.
It appears to be following the release schedule of season two, which also had an April release, in 2016.
Following it’s mid-season break, the post-apocalyptic series retuned for the second half of the season in August of the same year.
Season three was released later in the year in June and came back in September.
If season four follows the same pattern as season two, episodes one to eight will air weekly before the break and then return some time in August 2018.
Who is in the cast of Fear the Walking Dead season 4?
Following the carnage in season three were over half of the main characters were killed, the cast line up for season four has changed considerably.
The only character that is definitely alive is Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) whom was seen making it to shore after the dam burst.
The fates of Nick Clark (Frank Dillane), Alicia Clark (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Daniel Salazar (Ruben Blades) and Victor Strand (Coleman Domingo) are still unclear.
Those who will not be returning are Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), Ofelia Salazar (Mercedes Mason), Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman), Jake Otto (Sam Underwood), Lola Guerrero (Lisandro Tena) and Jeremiah Otto (Dayton Callie).
The open-ended finale is partly due to the fact that show-runner and co-creator Dave Erickson is leaving the show.
“We chose to leave it a little more open-ended, so at the end obviously the only person we see make it to shore is Madison,” Erickson told Entertainment Weekly.
“And we can find out, as I’m sure we will, in season 4 who else made it out of the water,” he added.
