Walking Dead season 8 trailer: Rick threatens to kill Negan as All Out War is declared

“Those who use, and take, and kill, we end them!”

Negan and the Saviors are marked for death in The Walking Dead’s latest season eight trailer.

All Out War between the Saviors and a coalition led by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) quite literally explodes in the clip, as Rick lays down the law to his followers.

“Listen, all of you have a chance to survive. But those who use, and take, and kill, we end them,” he rallies, adding: “This is the only way!”

To avoid any hint of subtlety, the teaser flashes the treacherous Jadis and her Scavengers, Simon and his band of Saviors and, finally, Negan on screen as Rick delivers his dire warning.

And he’s definitely not playing around! His rallying cry is followed in quick succession with shots of numerous Alexandrians cocking guns, Carol (Melissa McBride) aiming a machine gun and Daryl (Norman Reedus) riding away from a massive explosion.

All of this violence is a testament to showrunner Scott M. Gimple’s promise that fans should expect mass casualties in the war between Rick’s alliance and the Saviors.

“There are some big deaths this season, but I think they’ll possibly catch people by surprise,” the writer teased this week.

Cast member Austin Amelio (aka Saviours double agent Dwight) concurred: “It’s a f**king in-your-face, action-packed IV of adrenaline. Season seven was the ramp-up and now this is the blastoff. The stuff that’s happening is insane.”

The Walking Dead launches its eighth season with a super-sized premiere (and probably more than a few F-bombs) on October 22 on AMC in the US and October 23 on FOX in the UK. Watch a trailer below:
